Crisis
These are disorganized times. A clean pair of socks is where my DVD's should be.
Why is it lately that I feel as if some sort of crisis is going on? Something far away maybe, or in some alternate reality. I had a dream that my brother was 4 and a tortoise bit his hand off and I had to get him a taxi so he could get to the hospital (my mom, unrealistically, wouldn't pay for an ambulance!). And then they just sewed it back on.
Perhaps it is the lack of sun (remedied today?). Perhaps I just feel like there is some imbalance, somewhere, in the life of someone that I care about. I guess that I just have to wish them well.
Anyway, cultural studies of any sort seem to be filled with inane terms. "Hybridization", "Culturally Odorless", and "Binary Oppositions".. this isn't astrophysics. Bleh.

Recur
1987, a 5 year old boy walks into a comic shop and buys Godzilla #3 for around a dollar or two. It's his first comic book, ever.
2005, an 8 year old boy walks into the same comic shop and buys Godzilla #3 for $2.50 while the other boy, now a man, watches. It's his first comic book, ever.

Goad
I'm thinking of banging on a window tonight. I'm not doing so well I think. You know when you predict that something will happen - and then you end up causing it through your fear of the event? I have that sort of feeling. So I am trying to just forget about things for a moment.
Tonight I was riding on the bus downtown, and there were some girls stomping and beat-making this "wheels on the bus" song. I love this town on some nights. I'm really damn lucky to have started up around here. I take it for granted. Yeah, I could live in a place that's too boring (Idaho?), too genocidal (Sudan), too Mormon (Utah), too "residents think this is the center of the universe" (New York City), too cold (Antarctica), too smelly (Uzbekistan), too populated (China), too German (Germany), or too.. too mad? Too.. French? Japanese?

I'm, sad.
No caffeine can help me concentrate. No ginger can awaken these senses. No sugar or salt can motivate these nerves.
"It's 3:58 AM, why don't you sleep?"
"It's been almost 2 years now since.."

Godspeed.

Meiwaku

I must apologize.
A person of my wretched status has inconvenienced you, and has wasted many minutes of your valuable time.
Now he goes home, and is shamed to see members of his community, neighbors, fellow students...
Daaaaaa... daaaaaa... daaaaa... daaaaaa...
Welcome now to January 9th, 2006
Work drips on. I'm reading T.R. Reid's "Confucius Lives Next Door" inbetween customers, giant cups of hot chocolate, and Kanji studies. Tomorrow I hope, I'll get to dabbing the brush in the paint a little. I have to get that canvas started. Also too, I have to write a little bit more. Such an empty week must be filled.
